A nice gift than this little Ultimate. It fits all assembled in the trunk, it’s perfect for the numb fingers of winter …

This kit is an ARF from Topmodel ( http://www.topmodel ).
It is made of wood and Oracover, Cyano collage. All of this is very quick and fairly simple. The instructions are clear and the assembly is without traps.
The motorization complies with what is prescribed by Topmodel, the same as in my HotPlay. the batteries will also be the same.
The first flight took place on October 30 on Amcy field.

Takeoff:
Although the wind is 90 ° from the center line, heading is easy. It must be said that the power allows not to drag too much on the ground. The altitude gain is quick, and you end up quickly enough with enough water under the keel to adjust the trimmers.

In flight:
In the air, the Ultimate embarks quite strong on the right, the trim must be practically to the maximum … To be analyzed once back on the ground. Wind of medium strength does not bother him too much, it is very handy with the recommended travel. The wing profile is thin, the speed is surprising. It is certainly small, but it swallows the track like a ball. Well almost … The speed can be reduced without a violent stall. He is nice and flies with 25% gas.

Aerobatics goes well on without problem, on the other hand it can be heckled by gusts of wind and the trajectories must be corrected all the time. It’s a good exercise.

Landing:
The landing is easy even if the plane keeps a good speed on approach. Only the tail wheel decided to live its life. The wheel locking system with a small plastic tube cannot hold. A small stop ring is therefore essential.

Winter promises to be good with this little Ultimate. No mounting on the ground, no refueling … only happiness.

Ultimate’s maiden flight on AMCY field.
