Bugatti 100P building First step: Building the wings Installation of spars and ribs then of the landing gear attachment. We can see the particular geometry of the Bugatti wing: Front arrow and strong taper.Detail of the fixing of the retractable landing gear. Better to adjust this before shuttering: o)View of the assembly. We note the heels of rib which allow to impose the twist which is going well. Pledge of serenity when we slow down the creature: o)Installation of lower and upper formwork for the trailing edge.Detail of spar and reinforcement webs. Let us not forget that the “Buyssine” montages are done without wing keys. The formwork, common to the two wings, does the work. The reinforcement webs between the spar also contribute, I prefer to treat them.Today’s goal is to (properly) fix the retractable landing gear. In order to be able to dismantle it without hassle, I use an old trick which consists in soldering a piano wire in the screw slots in order to be able to tighten the nuts without them turning. I made an Alu plate to position the screws at the right spacing. Then grinding of the screw slots to enlarge them, smearing of stripping grease and welding of the piano wire.Once the piano wire is soldered on the screw heads, we get something that looks like this …Great, it fits right in: o)It is necessary to repeat the operation 2 times per landing gear leg and do not forget the washers. There’s more to screw the mechanics. And it holds while being easily removable. It begins to have the mouth of the Bugatti wing: o)The rest of the assembly: Installation of the servo and control rods, followed by the adjustment of the strokes. And it fits …It goes right and leftNow is a good time to adjust the linkage pathThe controls must cross without jamming ….The wings are now fully shuttered. It is time to prepare the assembly of the aileron servos.Once mounted, it gives that!Nice wing shape right? In any case not usual.Seen from the other side … Pages: 1 2 3
